Tough couple of months but life is good once again
« on: 26 July 2012, 15:22:18 »

Hi guys, what a mad few weeks... Went to work about 7-8 weeks ago and one of my colleagues in the A&E Dept where I work was concerned that I sounded a little breathless, so one of the nurses did an ECG etc and before I knew it I was booked in as a patient, anyway.... wasn't allowed to go home as they were concerned about my cardiac history (4x previous heart attacks) and stayed in hospital till they could perform an emergency bypass op so now at home recovering in the sun at the moment.
However in the meantime and this is the better bit (for me anyway) my father-in-law has changed his car and sold me his W reg Omega V6 for £200 (just to cover his tax) so  I am going to swap the leather seats from mine into his if they are easy to change over, and then strip mine down and send the body, engine & auto box to the scrappy. Anyone give me advice on which bits I should strip off and keep as spares for myself, more concerned with little bits and pieces that may be hard to come by as unable to do much heavy lifting and don't have the equipment to lift out the engine or gearbox, plus nowhere to keep them lol.
I was going to post it in the Parts for sale section but am nowhere near 250 posts, though by the time I finish stripping bits off and asking advice I may well be there!

It was a nice catch there all the same Jim.

I't good to hear that the surgery is over and done with and you're on the road to recovery, I hope that you're back to full fitness soon.

All the best. 8) :y

Yeah realised that and have since decided just to break mine and sell the leather seats, could someone help with placing an ad for me or is it best just to stick them on ebay?

Well don't over do things, full recovery takes a while :)

Seats - make sure they are from same era, else they won't be suitable. Besides, cloth is more comfortable anyway ;)

Yep already decided to stay with the cloth, car being broken is a '99 facelift and the car I am keeping is a 2000, same model so think they would be compatible but going to sell them now.
