I'm trying to remove the HID set up from my breaker.

So, ECU, Loom, Sensors, and ballasts with a good wiring length.

I have no idea how the HID system works, and it's proving a bit of a challenge.

I have unplugged the sensor, and followed that through the grommet in the NS wheelarch. This then just disappears into a huge part of the main loom that goes into the car. Please don't tell me I need to disect this - there just isn't the access!

1.5 hrs later and some scraped knuckles and I'm no further forward..

Also, the ballasts, any info on location and removal - I don't have a clue

Just thought, am I barking totally up the wrong tree here..

Maybe that connector (to the sensor) will be present on all cars, and perhaps I just need to get under the OS arch and look at the ECU there?

Yep.
Ballasts on rear of light unit (metal box).
Also another sensor on rear N/S arm
ECU lives under O/S wheelarch liner at the front.

Soddit!! Where does this go? Is it one complete loom from front to back? This is proving a nightmare!!!

You`ll never get the complete loom out James. Best you`ll do is track wiring back from both sensors and ECU as far as possible and snip. The bulk of it is in main loom and also goes to MID for check control. Why are you after the complete gubbins

Basically a member has asked for everything needed to HID convert, from my breaker

Request is for both sensors, loom, ECU, and then ballasts with as much wiring length as poss...

He doesn't ask for the whole loom, Mate, perhaps just snip as much as is easily possible???

As said, the wiring for the levelling system is all integrated into the main vehicle loom for cars with it fitted. The best you can do to help someone retro-fit would be to remove as much as is possible, along with all the connectors with cable tails that they can extend but they'd have to run additional wiring to the rear sensor, MID and diag socket as a minimum, I would have thought.

Reference the ECU, I've had a look up in the OS inner wing, does it live near the self levelling pump?

I can see the S/L pump easily enough, but there doesn't appear to be anything else in there...
