Calibra sale
« on: 01 August 2012, 20:41:50 »

I put the Calibra on ebay on Monday and a chap wanted to come see, was up for £750 but the omega is ready for the road again so it was surplus and I could do with the cash. I told the guy if he brings £600 he can take it tonight, turned up and was bowled over with it , DID NOT DRIVE IT, paid me and even took the old crappy alloy wheels off my hands for £40.

No issue with the buyer as he was a nice guy and very complimentary over the work I had done to it but FFS would you buy a motor without even test driving it......I don't think so ::)

I just looked back on the Gallery section at that car and if it's as good as it looked in those photos I can understand why he was so pleased. :y

You do get the odd person like that, it is strange when it happens.
I had a chap come and look at a car, he was with me for about 10 minutes.
He turned up, looked vaguely at the car, wrote me out a cheque for the full amount without haggling and said, call me when the cheque clears and I'll come and get it  ;D
It's nice when that happens  :o
Glad you got a good sale  :y

Had a guy like that when I sold my Vectra, Emailed me, an hour later showed up at my door, looked at the car for 10 minutes, listened to it running and gave me the full asking price with no questions asked, his face lit up even more when he seen the folder of receipts I gave him totalling over £2000.

If your calibra had been a pre facelift with a redtop I would have snapped it up myself.

If it had been a redtop it would have been broken up for more than £600....they do crop up on the bay at stupid cheap money though!

The fella who bought my Omega didn't drive it before buying, bit of a leap of faith on his part because he was driving it from South Wales to Derbyshire, a fair distance. He got there, as far as I know  :-\
