David Cameron Apologies
« on: 12 September 2012, 19:52:24 »

Would like to take a moment to raise my hat to the PM David Cameron. Today finally after 23yrs he said sorry and publicly admitted that the tragic events that took place at Hillsborough were the fault not of Liverpool fans but of the Police. And also he said publicly that there had been a cover up, this of course is what we have always known. Now because of the injustice that's been done people and family's have been unable to move on from the events that took place on that terrible day. Regardless of the time lapse all that remains now is that people who were in power to be at that time be brought to justice, they should be prosecuted and publicly shamed. R.I.P the 96 you will never walk alone.  :y :y

I think the greatest tragedy is the fact that some families will never know if their loved ones could have been saved.

I do hope this doesn't drag on for years to come. I know for a fact that folk outside of Liverpool have had it to the back teeth.

Don't see the point or need for DC to apologise tbh. What's that going to achieve?

The reason DC has apologized is because for 23yrs everyone knows that it was a complete cover up by the police. The victims families have the right to know the truth, and that was that Liverpool fans were not to blame for the death of 96 men women and children. Completely exonerated was today's verdict.

So what's that got to do with DC? Where was he 23 years ago?

It's just like our beloved cheeky chappy Gordon Brown apologising for slavery, pointless, irrelevant, and a waste of time.

Ok so it's got naff all to do with DC. All that matters is that some one has at last stood up and said that the great British Bobby lied through it's back teeth whilst 96 helpless bodies laid in a morgue. Forgive me if i sound angered but i have personal reasons to the subject.

Imho, all this was a cluster f*ck waiting to happen  :(

It was a disaster waiting to happen as soon as the stand and ticket allocation was announced.
The scoucers were moaning about the fact that plod had given Forest the Kop (big) end weeks before the game on the basis that Forest were travelling from the south and Liverpool from the North.
Stupid Logic.
This despite the entire world knowing that Liverpool are better supported than Forest.
It was also common practice at the time for fans to "steam in" at the last minute in the hope of getting for free, more so amonst scousers.
The stewards didn't have a clue and the supporters being crammed into pens like livestock only made matters worse.

The police and authorities should hang there head in shame for what they have done.
To use the police national computer to dig up dirt on the decieced fans to back up there version of the avent is sick.  >:(
I, as a football fan hope that they all get screwed to the wall for this  >:(

The only totally innocent people at that end of the ground that day are those who lost there lifes

I'm pleased you have posted this Steve, a cover up as horrific as this was never going to be allowed to remain in place by the people of Merseyside. Heads will roll at some point >:(

Absolutely, just a pity that some have enjoyed a happy retirement, or are no longer here to face justice. >:( >:(

The reason Cameron apologised was because successive governments and politicians have allowed this cover up to continue for all these years.

May the families now get the truth and the justice they deserve quickly. :y

This affects all of us not just the families of the 96 victims, the people we trust to keep us safe and help us when we need it not only proved sadly wanting, but have hidden their culpability for so long. We are expected to trust these people >:( >:( >:(

...and beyond outrage. I concidered starting a thread last night after watching sky news and the coverage from the true facts from the Hilsborough report, but I couldn't face it, or find the words to describe what they did.

Just beyond it all, and from the very people in place to protect.

And as for the Sun newspaper...

Justice for the 96. Rip.

The reason that its DC who is doing the apologising is that the truth has finally come to light on his watch.
Employees of the state (police officers) conspired to pervert the course of justice. They altered witness statements, destroyed evidence, and even had blood alcohol level tests carried out on the corpses of dead children,in their quest to divert attention away from their own shortcomings on that day.
This has now all been revealed, and surely it must be the job of the PM to say sorry on behalf of the state,to those involved.
