fazer 600 sevice
« on: 22 September 2012, 18:40:18 »

Hi guys
My very original FZS600 will need a service soon.
It`s about time I replaced the coolant, last done 3 years ago by an independant m/cycle mech.
I`m thinking is the red VX coolant any good for use in the bike ?
The rad is original from 1999.

Give the system a thorough flush, Vx coolant will be fine to replace with.

Thats interesting about the oil
I certainly don`t rev anywhere near the line. so I`m not sure why I`m using yamalube oil.
So no probs re. the clutch on your CBR

Car oils is a problem if it has friction modifiers in it apparently.MarkDTM informed us OOF bikers a few years ago that GM oil doesnt contain any so a few of us started using GM oil in our bikes (iirc Darth Loo-knee and the Boy also use it). Ive been using it for about three years, and often rev up to around 13,000rpm.Not had any problems at all. :y
