I put led sidelight bulbs in a couple of years ago and no problems at all. I initially changed out main beam bulbs for nightbreakers to get a bit more light output, these are a bit whiter than standard and by comparison sidlights looked really yellow...so swapped them. IMO they look better but maybe I have some underlying chav tendencies :-\. Only thing I would add on the subject (cus I have lots of free time to do so ;D ;D ;D) is that the led lamps with the leds that face in all directions rather than just forward give a better effect cus they illuminate the reflector better.

cheers

There are some good benefits with the LED lamps, not least is the fit once and forget advantage!

I have fitted these to a few vehicles, fantastic, cheap and no problems so far, been in my Omega for 15months.

Look loads better than the candle glow from the standard ones, nice and bright but not too bright.  Only comment would be that they do look blue when on, however once the xenon headlights come on they blend in well.  Car has been through an mot with no problems, and followed many police vehicles as well.

That was my thinking with SWMBO's Smart, the front off side is a bu66er to get to. I should have used better quality lamp though! The soldering inside came away, so I'd to buy a better pair surface mounted this time though.  ::) :y

A guy I work with was a system designer at Jag, he worked on the Range Rovers as well plus the odd Volvo system.

He was saying that on a certain type of Jag (whcih shares a lot of bits with the Mondeo) they fitted cheaper bulbs to save 3 quid off the cost knowing most would only last 2 years tops!
