Made it home with Migsy(Now my name for her)
I'm hopeing I may have dropped lucky with her
She's had a previous lady owner for the past 4yrs
And has a fairly substantial service history for this time
The drive back was OK apart from a fairly loud constant moan which appeared to be comeing from the rear offside wheel
This moan goes completely when takeing a R/H turn say on a roundabout
With a view to all that's been said and after the 90 odd mile drive home
I'm reasonably sure it would be a waste to substitute Migsy's keyparts with Miggy's
So it's a stripdown for Miggy & hopefully my mate will store miggy's vital parts for me
To get back to the rear wheel problem has anyone had this problem before?
Especially that it goes away when turning right
Is this the symptom of a shot wheel bearing or could it be something else?
Would greatly appreciate any advice Thanks :y :y

Sounds like it, as when turning right load is reduced on rear O/S wheel

Ah!
Thanks Rob :y
Didn't thnk about the weight transfer clue
Hopefully the bearing will last out a wee while longer
May transplant Miggy's entire rear transmission/suspension from autobox back onto Migsy
Along with the S/S exhaust system & towbar
Still need to get under Migsy to evaluate :-\ ::)

Yep. sounds like wheel bearing but worth rotating the tyres in case it's got a noisy tyre on that corner, IMHO.

Jack it up and see if the bearing feels rough or has play in it.

Might be worth swapping the rear trailing arm from the old car. I'd be getting a new bearing pressed into it first, though. No point going through all that work for a 2nd hand bearing given the cost of them.

Hvae the same bearing problem, Rumbling whilst driving from the OSR wheel. Decided it was the bearing though haven't confirmed. Had used the estate to transport rally engines about so had quite a bit of weight in the back. Was going to tackle it this weekend but my battery has died so focussing on that now. Let me know how it goes.
