Signum Alternator fault reveals heroes
« on: 02 November 2012, 22:29:11 »

My wife was on her own in Signum with grandson and no-one else around today and alternator on signum decided to give up ghost right on a busy roundabout (Meadows, Camberley)causing bottleneck.

A friend we have not seen for ages stopped to help not knowing it was my wife and with his son  pushed car onto kerb and waited til AA turned up. AA guy was absolutely brilliant changing to spare battery to help coax car to dealer - assisted with getting hire car (Renault Scenic) from Enterprise (apparently we have 3 days as part of AA deal) and helped with child seat fixing (Enterprise not allowed to assist in fitting child seats for "insurance reasons"). AA guy was fantastic. Cannot thank everyone enough as myself and my son not near to help out.

Warranty Direct will hopefully pick most of the tab for the alternator - I think the VX charge is something like £320 according to Vectra /Signum site. A common problem apparently

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
