Hankook - premium brand ?
« on: 10 November 2012, 12:20:40 »

Just was looking some car related site and found that Hankook tyres are frequently used on Merc Audi and some other premium cars. Has the Hankook become a premium brand? For me this name doesn't sound as a premium yet so I would rather choose a Conti,Michelin and other really premium tyre .  What's your opínion, guys ?

Around here, its still budget, but some are trying to push it mid-range

Made a cotact at PVS at Santa Pod of company called Neo Brothers. They are in Waltham Cross area. They are the only (at the time) dealers for a tyre that is linked to Yokohama. They race with them, drifters use them, because of the cheapness. A 225/55/16 was £51 plus fitting and VAT in June. I will try a set when I get my next set of wheels painted.

Tyres are Neuton and, TBH, not as impressive as you would have thought ::)

Reasonably good in the dry but have a marked deterioration in wet conditions. I've tried them, as has Aaron (IIRC) and I'm not overly impressed. I'll stick with Accellera Alphas over them as they perform better in the wet ;)

But then I may well expect more out of my tyres than you ::)

IIRC, all Omega tyres have to be V rated (2.0/2.2 and diesel models) or Z/W/Y (V6)  ???

The Hankook Eco tyres for medium sized cars have had very good write ups and were a joint winner in a Which tyre performance test.

some of their models have good test ratings.. and they last long too.. however,  its rubber degrades quicker than premium brands..
