Thinking of getting this:

It says "Euro", which looks same as the comically named "ACME thread" - The "Euro" elsewhere (on sites listing adpators) suggests one unique to Spain:

So question is, the above kit from eBay should be good for my Austria trip, as I plan to take in: France, Belgium, Luxembourg,  Germany & Austria. France fill ups are possible, but looking to avoid.

I can only speak for France .. but the left hand one of the two in the picture will certainly work  there, I believe it is called the "Italian Cup"

The Dutch I think use the same bayonet that UK does

Germany is the "ACME thread" which is I think the right hand one shown

I aim to fill up in Luxembourg, but might end up filling up in Belgium & Germany each way.

Hopefully do a few more trips in near future, so makes sense to buy the adaptor kit

I bought mine from the first motorway services (selling LPG) in Frenchland a few years back and I think ther were about 5 Euro each but can't remember what they were priced at last time I went If you can make it to the Belgian border there's a LPG garage just off the motorway that is normally reasonably priced... If you think you'll need it I'll dig it out for you.

That might be a push, fully loaded + roof box. Esso site works well seen a few just after Brussels which should do the job.

How do those pumps work, as usual push in and rotate until they lock? But what do they lock onto as bayonet version hits something solid.

Bayonet versions the same as the 2 uk types

Italian cup .. screw the adaptor on, then insert the end of the nozzle into the cup and pull the trigger, the 3 latches expand out to lock inside the cup lip. NOTE : I find it useful to ensure the nozzle is "vertical" .. as if it is not the weight tends to "undo" the adaptor. When finished, release the trigger and the latches go back in so you can remove the nozzle. Don't forget to remove the adaptor

ACME screw I've never used ..

Most pumps have a picture/cartoony thing with instructions ..

How do mean "vertical" though, do you mean at right angles? My filler is the bumper, drivers side. It points downwards slightly, but never been a problem here in the UK.

Won't be as you are not using an adaptor !!

The adaptor screws in .. but only "finger" tight ... the weight of the nozzle and hose "can" be enough to unscrew the nozzle 1/4 - 1/2 a turn IF the nozzle is not on vertically .. IME.

That 1/4 - 1/2 a turn is enough to cause a leak under the pressure the LPG goes in at.... so I always make sure the nozzle is vertical when using the adaptor..

So the nozzle you twist, that should be aligned correct/vertical when its inserted, so you don't rotate it when you lock it.

The french ones don't have a twisty nozzle .. just the bit that inserts into the cup and then the latches come out... so hold the whole thing vertical when you place it in the cup .. it then won't try and rotate under its own weight.

Also, make sure you have a pair of pliers handy just in case you can't undo it again

The ACME screw is easy to use... Screw in adaptor and then screw on Again, not too tight

It all looks abit weird at first, but it's easy to figure out....
