The mig has gone
« on: 28 April 2008, 23:30:49 »

Well the mig sold last week, am now the owner of an r reg gold 306 1.9 Dturbo (that I have named the diesel weasel), have to admit its not a bad car. Runs on fresh air and is quite nippy.

The Diesel Weasel

Sad to have had to sell her but there ya go, thats life. On the plus side is mega cheap to run, you can get a complete engine for £250 and panels start at 99p on the bay. So there you have it...

Shhh, I've got a metallic red PUG 306 D-Turbo myself :-X

Good cars. I use it for about town rather than clog up the V6. (Well I will do more again when the novelty of the new Mig wears off a bit)

Lack of funds demanded a cheap oil burner, and I have to say it isn't to bad, quite sporty even. Am pretty pleased with it and its easy (and free!) to tune by playing with boost/fuel settings. With a small amount of cash you can get some decent power out of it. Will keep you posted as to how its coming along...

I was serious when i said i would like a hatch to compliment the MIG, so please do let us know how you get on with the Pug.

Actually the 306 DTurbo makes a lot of sense.

92bhp (may not sound much but it goes well) and group 5 insurance make it the best power to insurance group you can buy.

It gives 50+mpg easily and handles very well.

It is quite easy to tune to around 115bhp (and lots of torque!) with no ill effects.

The seats are good and the sound system is better than expected.

Also when you sell it there will be a queue of kids wanting to pay you more for it (they know it is the quickest thing you can buy and get insurance on when you are under 21).

Just change the oil and filter every 3k and make sure there is a proper 50/50 coolant mix (coolant neglect is the main cause of HG failure on these) and it should just keep going. :)
