Parrot mki9200 help
« on: 24 November 2012, 17:55:16 »

Hi all,

Just fitted the mki9200 to my vectra c with cd70  system.  Parrot streams music from my iphone and connects when making a call, but the dashboard speaker is still playing the radio/cd and NOT what the parrot is doing?

Any ideas please?

TIA :y

If I remember this right there is a couple of mute wires (3 I think) If one of them isn't plugged in you won't silence the head set.

The telemute should tell the HU to play whats coming in off Aux In.

Note, it will be bloody hopeless for music, as the phone input is LoFi mono.  Some CD70s (not all it would appear) have a proper Aux In, that would be the way to go, and do the honourable thing with the Parrot - send it to landfill.

Parrots don't work by using Aux in etc. They interrupt the speaker outputs. They aren't to bad a piece of kit just can't use them with a Bose set up

Is that on the autoleads or the car's wiring?

Only just managed to wire this up without wrecking everything  ;D ;D ;D ;D

They can use the Aux In.  Its just most people only fit Parrots if the stereo doesn't have an Aux In.

I remember now seeing 3 individual mute wires, but where do I connect them?

I was originally told I didn't need them ::)     Just glad I tie wrapped them up and not cut them  :)

There should be the other end to the wire in the Parrot harness. If I remember right.

Parrots dont have to use the speakers direct, its just thats how most installers fit it with an autoleads loom as its simple to do, they work a lot better using the Phone in and the mute connection.

The CD70's pre 2007.5 dont have the audio aux in (it can be retrofitted if your good at soldering) which is the only option for a stereo feed however, this is not active when the mute feed is activated.
