So the eml fault code is pointing towards getting a service.
I have noticed that the gear selectir does not always indicate the
Gear i am in but if i go through all the gears it seems to settle
Down ok.
Could this all be down to gear linkage adjustment or the selector
Sensor?

The 1700 means gearbox fault, which matches the LED problem.

Clean selecter switch :y

All
Thanks for the help.
Managed to get to the selected switch to clean it.
Did get some cleaning and it is getting better.
Can I squirt it with something like electrolube or wd40 or will this kill it?
Also failing this how much to change one out.

The fault code reader seems to work ok.
Got the same codes as the pedal test gave and cleared them.

I am also thinking of having the gearbox oil changed but not sure if it's worth it.

Any suggestions

Many thanks

John

fault still evident if hit and miss.
Have seen the posts on cleaning the switch so feel happier about that - can the cover be removed with the switch attachd or do I have ot take the switch off - The haynes manual says this is a big faf

Any help greatly received
