I have an omega saloon and want to swap for an estate as I'm trying fix my house up on the cheap and will be buying some furniture etc.

The car is a 2003 2.6 auto CDX in silver with cream leather. It is tested until 21/12/13 and taxed until the end of March.

I bought the car off an oof member who assured me that the cambelt was done at 69000 miles but there is no proof of this. The current mileage is 85500.

One of the rear doors has been replaced along with the front bumper. The front bumper has a few scratches where I greeted a motorcyclist with too much enthusiasm. ;D

Everything appears to work on the car, even the heated seats. It will need two new rear tyres soon but the front ones are good.

The car drives really well and passed it's MOT needing no work at all.

I really love the car but an estate would be much better for me.

I'll put some pictures on tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that the near side rear window sticks so that needs sorting.

Also, most of the graphics have worn off the fan buttons.

If I tried to sell on autotrader does anyone know how much a sensible asking price would be?

There is not much demand on the oof is there?

Hard to say Kate. The prices seem all over the place. I'd say just north of 800. You might get a bit more if you can wait for the right buyer. Problem with selling on Autotrader is you don't have any proof of cambelt and you may find somebody who takes your word for it but I feel most potential buyers will look at it as needs doing. Shame I know. Have you looked on Ebay and Autotrader for the price of estates?

I'd say £500 to £600. There's no proof of cambelt, servicing, mileage. You might get more if your not in a hurry to sell

Estate prices seem to vary from about £350 to £4000 which seems like quite a big difference to me.

Mine has some service history. It was serviced every year up until 2008 so it has 5 service stamps but I don't suppose this would affect its value at all.

I wanted to make some garden planters and stuff out of old pallets but it's hard to fit them into a saloon. I get bored as I can't work due to health problems so I'm always looking for things to do.

With all the paperwork I gave you, I seem to remember an invoice for a cambelt being done in 2010 at 69k, from memory it was done at a VX dealer, I'm sure camcover gaskets have also been done with paperwork to prove?

have you still got all the bills? I'm sure it's in the brown envelope with the other bills but I may be wrong.

Bills are good. Better than just stamps in a book. Sorry to hear your unwell. I've got another op on my foot on the 12th and I'll be in plaster for 3 months again. Really pee's you off I know. Lucky my Mig is an auto so I can get out of the house for a drive at least.

I've got the receipts for the cam belt which was done in November 2010 at 69000 and the cam cover gaskets were done in March 2011.

I've also got the old MOT's dating back to 2008 which helps to prove the mileage doesn't it?

That must be a nightmare having a plaster on for 3 months. I hope you foot mends well.
