The Mercedes CL in any engine is an incredible bargain, it was Britain's fastest depreciating car for a few years but loads available at 5k, all have double glazing, Bose, Pillarless coupe, leather and after 2002 has the soft close doors and boot, widescreen satnav (command), massage seats and keyless go.  Weak point is the EAS pump that controls the air suspension but otherwise very reliable.

As you can tell I have been looking at these for a while.....   :)

Just be aware of any Merc with Sensotronic Brake Control.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensotronic_Brake_Control
MB have fixed the fault for free in the States but seem to be able to get away with not doing the same over here ...... it's mega bucks to fix when it fails - and apparently it does fail frequently
