if there are 40 horses or so in the race surly it's worth putting a quid on each one?

your bound to get something back even if its a loss

ummm......thats like saying wining the national lottery is summat like 13.5 million to one......so spend 13.5 million quid to cover every permutation to win maybe 2/3/4/5/6 million  ;D ;D

I see the winning jockey came down to earth with a bump (literally) today. Airlifted to hospital after falling of his horse at a smallish meeting this afternoon.

I let the children pick a horse each ever year, it usually comprises of which one is the nicest colour

My 6 year old daughter picked Aurora encor so had 2 quid each way and my 1 year old with his chocolate stained fingers picked Oscar time another 2 quid each way.. Went to the bookies today to collect and was shocked it was 205 quid !

A valuable lesson learned for next year, let the kids pick  :y

2x66 = 132 then 50p x 66 = 33 (for the 25% of the place as it was each way) 165 + the stake 169

Then as oscar again was each way 50p x 66 = 33 + the stake 37

169 + 37 = 206 (not 205 as previously stated)
