vacume pipes off of break servo
« on: 12 April 2013, 05:07:54 »

you know the vacuums that come off the break servo ie the plastic bit with two vacuum outlets in between the two heat shrank pipes that  up by the bulkhead

one of the outlets as broke

is there any other way of fixing it or connecting it back with getting a new plastic bit and trying to heat shrink  it back on

if you do have get a new one anyone know the part number or what the hell you call it lol so i can look on ebay

if you do fit a new one what the eayest way of geting it on can warm heat shrink pipes a bit pull it off and heat it back with a heat gun etc

things the one with t pice that gos to heaters ie hbv other one is still connected but i presume with other broken off im loosing vacuum from broken one

I once had the same with one 2,5 engined Omega and here's what I did: I blocked the original/broken connection and put generic t-piece to the hose from the other/non-broken connection. Works ok. Did purchase a new part to replace the broken one but never got that far...

About £10/£11 IIRC The plastic gets very brittle ... hence snapping in the first place, so would be wary of A N Other  :y

And then 15 mins to soften the vacuum pipe up enough to remove the old valve & fit the new one.

If you meant head gasket, I'd be surprised. It's very, very rare for them to fail on a V6.

What are the symptoms?

As Kevin Wood says, HGF on a V6 is rare, bar some 1998 that leak coolant to outside the block.  When I say rare, I mean incredibly rare. Unheard of type rare ;)

So, symptoms?
