No interior lights. K153 timer relay??
« on: 20 April 2013, 06:10:04 »

Hi,

I'm in the process of retrofitting an auto dimming rear view mirror in my facelift and yesterday, playing with the multimeter and the roof courtesy light plug, after hearing the relay sound (the same it does when the interior lights switch off after some minutes) they didn't work again. The rest of the toys work, but the puddle lights, handle lights, boot light, sunvisors... don't... I've not checked the rear 12v socket, I suppose it won't work... All the fuses are ok.

I've searching in the forum and the reason could be a faulty relay (I broke it with some kind of shortcircuit), the K153, I know it's behind the fuse box and I think it's a 9 pin yellow relay, am I ok? So, could someone confirm me that this relay is the GM 24427610 part number? I'll order it to my GM stealer next monday.

Thanks mates

Wow!!  :o :o

That fuse was not in "my interior lights list". Solved!!!

Thank you very much!!

Now, I think there's something wrong with the main interior light cos only works when a unlock the car with the key fob, it doesn't work if I pull the headlights switch or if I open the door, the maps light and all the other lights work well.

I'll search in the forum cos I think I've seen something about it..

Thanks again RobG

Well,

I've been playing with the tester again... I've not broken anything this time  8)

The problem is the grey/black wire in the light plug.. this comes from the central locking ECU (door switches and lights switch, I suppose)..  :-\ The central locking works..

Connecting the tester to de red and grey/black wires in the light loom plug, I get 12v for some seconds when I unlock the car with the key fob.. If I open the front doors or pull the lights switch, I get nothing.. 0v

If I connect the grey/black wire to the brown wire in the loom plug, the light works!! so, the light unit is not broken...

Any idea??? Broken C/L ECU??

Could I replace this ECU without reprogamming anything?? Maybe resyncing is enough?? The car hasn't alarm.

Thanks
