I was just reading an old thread which suggested it was possible to buy kit to control an aftermarket radio unit from the Omega (2000 2.5 semi facelift petrol manual estate) steering wheel control from DND in Paignton, Devon. Is it possible to control the above JVC kit with their gear?

It looks like your head unit is not compatible with steering wheel controls I'm afraid.

Thanks for the advice, Murph. I know it's an old bit of kit, but it plays very well, and I have it in my two best cars.

I know what you mean.
As long as it does what you want it to do there's no need to replace it.

I don`t think that radio has the 3.5mm jack plug on the back for connection with a steering interface, so may not be compatable

i bought a conversion kit for my 1998 omega 2.5 as i fitted a kenwood set up and this would not work the steering wheel controls without it...i got it from auto leads and it did the job.....then i bought a face lift omega and the leads must be different as it would not accept the kenwood player with the same kit..so some where along the line the face lift wiring must be different......shame yours isnt a kenwood as you could  have had my old auto leads  :kit,,.. :y

Not all stereos are compatable with steering controls, and for those that are, you cannot mix the interfaces and leads between different manufacturers.
