thanks for all the replies.  Having to use the key or dashboard is a pain when you are used to just lifting the handle but I'll get used to it. It woudl have been nice if it lifted the boot all the way.

On climate control as I understand it the auto button doesn't seem related the air con.   ac  just comes on if needed unles I press eco which switches it off, or I switch off the entire climate control.  For me the auto button seems to override the 'feet, face or screen buttons', and seems to speed up the fan. I prefer low fan and feet and face setting.  If I want it on the screen I press the demist button.

The mirror is definitely significantly  darker tnan my V6 Reflection standard mirror, and than any other mirror I have seen, maybe it is faulty.  I'll try blocking the light sensor.

Boot, are you referring to having to remove key or switch off Engine to open Boot, on your 2.6 you can press and hold in the boot release switch for more than a few seconds to open, without removing Key, hopefully you already know this.

CC, Just switch Auto off, and use the manual settings, ECO button is Air Con on / off.

Mirror, there are 2 Sensors front and back of Mirror, check the back Sensor (towards the Screen) is not blocked with something, putting your finger over this Sensor in daylight should make the Mirror darker, the front Sensor (towards the rear screen) is the rear Headlamp detection, putting you finger on this one as well as rear shold make the Mirror lighter in daylight, have a play and see whats going on.

The climate control is always on auto in mine, as if I have it on eco the windscreen mists up. Ok the fan can be a bit noisy but it soon settles down, also just found out if you set temp on drivers side and press button twice it sets passenger side to same temp.

The mirror is prob. faulty - i have the same thing and have covered the sensor on the mirror with some tape and it is ok now.

I have now sorted my dipping mirror problem, don't know if it will help other people when searching but I took the back (front in car terms) off the mirror, surprising easily do do, just pull, and found a clear plastic light tube loose inside.  Presumably a previous owner had poked it from the front facing sensor hole and dislodged it or maybe it had been like that since new.  So exterior light was not being transmitted well to the sensor.  Now it is and my mirror is clear in daylight and tinted at night.

I had tried covering the sensor but of course this made my problem worse not better.

re boot I came across Hillpers Boot Mod here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90516.0 to disable the boot dash button disable function.  Helped a lot now I can pop the boot at 70mph if I want ;).
