Mrs' Gran worked on Lancaster bombers in the War, and goes into great detail of what she had to do.. Great to here the stories :y

Also we have a Spitfire in Hanley Museum :y
Reginald Mitchell was born about 2 miles from here in Butt Lane :y

Has anyone been up to Derwent? it is really worth a visit :y

I am very fortuneate in not living too far away.

When I am able I have often taken the camera and gone for a cruise round the open country side arround there.

I just follow my nose, one moring I and up on a road no wider than the car, there were odd patches of low lying mist, with rabbits running down the road side, a stoat ran accross the road, I saw an owl turn it's head the full 360 (seen owl's before but never saw one do that in real life.  Partridges and Pheasant's running lose, it was truly amazing. On the journey back the sun's ray's were streaming through the tree's etc.  Wonderfull trips out.

But yet I never ever gave the Dambusters any thought whilst I was driving round, and yet as a kid I reckon it was one of the best films ever as I grew up.

How sad am I for not realisng
