Facelift MV6 Estate tailgate spoiler
« on: 17 June 2013, 11:52:08 »

How do these buggers come off ?
Are they glued or bolted on or a mixture of both ?

Am I right in thinking that the tailgates are the same across the range ?
Mines totally knackered but I have a MFL one (different colour) but total rust free  :D :y

Later ones are glued, but might have a locating dowel in each corner (Irmscher) :y

Not sure about earlier ones :-\

 Hi guys
sorry for jumping on this thread, I've just bought a brand new mv6 tailgate spoiler from ebay, ok its prodrive and it has all papers from the year 2000 ready to be primed and painted glue is rock soild, do you remember those days not, they look a bloody nightmare to install, yes I can bolt it on has well but the tailgate is double skin,  :-\

Stick it on with Sikaflex, it won't go anywhere :y

Mr Gonads, the mouldings are clipped in with a strip of sticky backed foam along the top edge. Just lift them of carefully (a bit of heat from a hairdrier or summat won't hurt), three clips per moulding :y

Tailgate shell is one size fits all from '93-'03 :y

Just to add, the lock/handle moulding is bolted from inside :y
