I'm on the brink of buying one of these jobbies from Amazon direct for £31.50 inc P+P.

However, it seems that the market is flooded with fakes that don't work as they should.

My question is this ......how can I tell a fake from the genuine item before putting my hand in my pocket?

Are there any obvious signs?.

You can`t, and as that model is now obsolete you`re better of getting something like this

Thanks, Rob. ....£89 for the genuine article is a far cry from £31.50.

The alternative is within my financial reach though. I'll hunt around and see if I can source it any cheaper.

Wow, thanks Manta, that's some offer. However, I'm minded to go with the suggestion that Rob G made and go for a new one.

It's good to know that the unselfish OOF spirit lives on, helping impoverished Omega owners to keep these ageing metal dinosaur's on the road.
