Not seen the words in question, but I have to say, she did "appear" very irritating to me.
She's more than likely a very nice in person, but fist pumping and teath gritting along with a stealy gaze in the face of an emotional competitor at the end of the court might be inappropriate.
But Bartoli is a sportswoman and like all sports people was focused on her own game and doing what she had to do to win. If that means odd jigs and excentric behaviour , as the commentary team referred to it, between points then that's what you have to do.
I can see why she could be annoying, and I personally might consider that she wasn't the best player during the tournament.
She won it fair and square though, and fair play to her. I wouldn't put anything any stronger than that though.
Its quite common in bike racing too. Biaggi, Kocinski, Stoner all fell foul of the crowds opinion, and where utterly abused. Utterly awesome riders too though. Edwards saw both sides of the coin, booed and abused in early world superbikes days at Castrol, then a hero after saving the bike on his knee at Jerez and swearing with some plain and amusing interviews on live tv.
It is odd true enough (not seen twitters posts as said, but sounds a similar situation) IMO, sport is sport, its not a popularity contest, one way or the other.
