1st August looms for launch of BT Sport. I have BT Infinity already so the deal is £5 per month includes free HD for one year, "free" Humax BT Vision/Youview box, twin tuner and storage etc - oh and connection fee of £50.Decided for another £2 pm to go for the Extra Channels - History, Nat Geographic etc
Just a heads up for those of you using powerline adaptors around the house. On BT Vision box it says if your ethernet cable not long enough then use powerline adaptors. Not quite true. When you read the manual they cover their ass by saying for the extra channels will not work with powerline adaptors. not quite true either. Bottom line is that HD does not work with powerline adaptors (now confirmed by BT) and BT accepts I should have been told when placing order. They will send a 10 metre ethernet cable but I doubt if I will use it as it will have to go on an exterior wall and might look a bit naff.
I still have Freesat still connected to tv (as BT/Youview uses aerial ) and so if I need HD can just switch to that. I like the BT system though and my telly is not that great an HD unit anyway as it is 7 years old.
