ABS ecu diagnostic please
« on: 16 July 2013, 09:25:27 »

Hi Guys,

I'm getting ABS/TC/Speedo issues but it's not quite behaving like other posts I've read on here so I would be very grateful if there is anyone in the Colchester area that can stick a diagnostic on my car please?

It's the 2.5 v6 so my diagnostic machine doesn't talk to it at all and I can't find an upgrade to my paperclip so far.

TIA

J

AFAIK only a "proper" tech2 will talk to the ABS ECU, most readers, including ebay/chinese clones/copies will only do engine parameters

Not true Nige.Ebay Chinese specials will communicate with ABS ECU (and all the others afaik)just fine.I wouldn't want to do anything more involved than turning off light or similar with them though. To be fair,my chinses cheapo told me my n/s/r sensor was fubar and it was correct.Changed the sensor and all was well. It stopped working shortly after that though. ::) ;D

I've decided my car doesn't like the heat.

First thing in the morning it's fine but once the car has been running and the engine bay is warm on comes the lights.
If the car is left in the sun all day at work the lights come on, but if left in the shade no lights.
And I found that if I open the bonnet for a few minutes or turn the fans on full blast whilst driving then the lights go out.

Damn hot weather  8) :'(
