The next blu-ray

Holds an extra 250 biggerwobbles. More data on a disc. I presume there's an outlet to take all this data. Even more HD on a TV? 7020p maybe?  :o

I haven't even seen a blue ray disc or a player so can't comment. I haven't even seen HD anything.

But my thought was will this be like HiFi. 98% of the population haven't good enough hearing or a suitable environment to be able to benefit from 5 squillion more pixels/pounds/hertz. So a product without an audience maybe.

4K? Oh, that thing that came before 8K? ::)

TBH, in most domestic scenarios, it makes little odds, IMHO.

HD makes a difference in the "typical" front room scenario, although you are probably not getting the full benefit unless your nose is touching the average sized panel. With 4K - no chance you'll notice the difference, unless one room of your living room is all TV.

I would guess that the next stage will be "true 3d" where the viewers can move round a scene.
that would take a *lot* of storage.
