How very disappointing after the thread title.
What were you hoping for?
Something big and pink
Just proves what I've been saying all along Esta.
Well I like your post and the title Tunnie!!

You certainly know how to excite a girl with one of her favourite subjects; well two really- history and railways!

Fascinating article, with accompanying archive films. Yes, a non-stop train between the main stations in the South-East is very rare, with just too much congestion and too many important stations en route. The old boat train expresses, such as
The Golden Arrow , could obtain a clear path to go non-stop from Victoria to Folkestone, but that was a rarity. The Beatles
Day Tripper promotional film, shown on
Top Of The Pops in 1965 gave one of those rare glimpses of a train going down non-stop to Brighton from London, highly speeded up to match the length of the song!
Apart from the HS1 trains that shoot through Kent from the Chunnel to St.Pancras, that is the ones that do not stop at Ashford of Ebbsfleet, I have personally had the pleasure of going non-stop from Ashford to Charring Cross. It was completely by accident though, as a previous train had broken down, with the next taking the normal path with all the stops. Mine was a relief train that apparently "the Management" decided should get to Charring Cross as fast as possible, which it did. This was old slam door stock, but by God didn't it travel. It was fast all the way, through all the major stations, and even overtook at London Bridge the train that had set off 30 minutes or so earlier. Great fun, with me one of a very few number of passengers enjoying a rare experience!
