Im not fussed about power as i have had my boy racer days, just looking for a good driving car with half decent fuel economy and there is something about the omega that makes me want to get one. My mechanic told me to stay clear as its a vauxhall with the eco wreck engine but i have owned a few vauxhalls in the past and i personally dont mind them. Does anyone know if the automatic gearboxes on the omega's are reliable and if they are known for any faults?

Had mine for 7 years now never had any major issues with my auto box. Done about 40k over that time :y

thats good Paul, its nice to hear that an auto is still going strong as most people moan about auto gearboxes but i prefer auto's as i feel they are a far better cruising car to a manual

I was speaking with a friend earlier who has a p reg 2.0 16v auto omega and he said it has done over 184k and still going strong and has sailed through the last few mot's

At the minute i have a renault scenic auto and these are prone to automatic transmission failure so thought i would ask as i dont wanna go back down that road, before anyone says it i know its a french car and thats says it all

Cheers
Chris
