Hi question regarding xenon headlights,
The garage who MOT Desmond said the plastic iner plate`s are lose inside both Lights. He as pased the car but thought I may want to get it looked at.
Question is it a straight forward job to change the headlights back to normal ones(because of price) or are xenon wired to the loom differently so once you have xenon,you have to replace with xenon?

Its failed adjusters mate - happens on both xenon and non-xenon light units.  Replacement aluminium adjusters are available (on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium-Vauxhall-Omega-Headlight-Adjusters-post-98-/251346450645?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a856a78d5

I've seen the how to guide it looks a messy fiddly job 

I'm sure Omegod said he has some good Xenon/HIDs headlights for a FL might be worth sending a message

Which is the one in the maintenance section

Looks straightforward enough, obviously some bits will be clearer with the light unit in front of you...

Facelift lights are identical in all but the shape of the lower inner corner (pointed rather than curved)

The job isn't too bad. Mrs TB and I have done loads.

If anyone is passing and is too scared to do theirs, feel free to drop by (with notice, in case she needs the cooker for cakes. Cakes always take priority in the TB household).

I did mine cold, just sliced through the mastic with a Stanley knife

Thank you all once again for the info,
My trouble is at my age now the  knees ,back and hands are not so free like you lots! .and when the garage had to take the battery out just to change the N.S side light bulb my head dropped.
So it was them who suggested the swap back to ordinary head lights if there is no problem with the wiring,        what your thoughts  ?

You would miss your HID lights, besides, the wiring won't be there for the manual level from the switch to none HID lights. No need to remove the headlights to change a side ligt bulb, even with the spades that I have for hands.
Repair what you have.

  Change your garage.  5 minutes to take headlamp assembly out on a FL and that way you don't need to reset the radio. what the hell did they take the battery out for.  Would they take the complete airfilter housing out to do the otherside.

They obviously thought it was a Vectra C
