Energy switching
« on: 17 October 2013, 20:21:48 »

Like many, I need to switch.

Fixed until Mar 15, I save approx £10 a month on what I currently pay
Fixed until Jan 16, I will pay approx £5 a month more than now
Fixed until Dec 16, I will pay approx £9 a month more than now

Decisions, decisions.

Any comments?

I would fix for as long as possible. Let's face it, prices aren't gonna drop are they.

The only way is up. :(
Just fixed for 4 years. Price is a bit expensive by todays rates  (last weeks rates actually) but Im assuming the price will be comparatively cheap in a couple of years time.
So - option 3 imo.

I guess that depends, how much more, per month, do we think energy will be after March 2015, that is the question.

I reckon more than £19, seeing as we are about to get hit with a 10% hike very soon (approx £13-14 a month for me)

10% p.a. seems like a reasonable ballpark assumption these days. Outrageous, but pretty much unavoidable apparently. :(

What are you paying per month at the moment
summer / winter ?

Looks like i'm in the same boat as you.
I'm with First Utility at the moment.
Send in your reading at the end of the month, money comes out about the 10th of the next month.
Deal ends this December  :(

Option 3 applied for.

Hopefully by then, the dogooders would all have been shot in the head, and fracking will become a reality.
