Watched? Try reading it  ;D

Replace seals on transfer pipe (if not replacing transfer pipe), and apply a smear of grease or vaseline to them.

Pull back the transfer pipe to allow room for thermostat to attach to engine block, and torque it to 20Nm, then push transfer pipe into thermostat

On this 3.2, the B-bolt only holds tarnsfer pipe and engine lift bracket. Others, the B-bolt goes through transfer pipe, dipstick, engine lift bracket.

It shouldn't need any extra sealant but I find that differential corrosion occurs between the alloy thermostat housing and the iron block so I give it a smear of Hylomar which seems to do the trick :y

When I did mine last year I ran a thin bead of grey oil cooler plate sealant ( only because I had it to hand as did cooler at the same time)around the outer edge just to be totally sure, as that very thin rubber 0 ring didn,t inspire me with the confidence it would fully seal up.

All has now been coolant tight for over 40k . :y
