hi all bought some ring drl light's, there is a fitting kit for them being on with engine, and off with light's on, fitting is not a problem but my question is regarding the law, can i wire straight to side lights so they will come on with dip and be on at night but with a lower wattage, will i be ok.

I expect you will be in breach of the Construction & Use act.

Jasonm is a Trafpol, I'm sure he will be able to advise.

That is how they are intended to be fitted/used. ie their EU type approval is that that is how they should operate in accordance with the law. Anything else and they would be clearly marked 'Not legal for road use' :y
