A what? A butchers? I'll have to google that. ;D

I can understand your amusement as small local shops are definitely a dying breed, but the difference in quality between the supermarket crap and a proper butchers is immediately noticeable when you eat it (as is the price).

She's leapt up and gone searching for a butchers. :y

Oh and dont forget the custard on offer at lidl  :P

I don't know why the supermarket's don't sell 'nag meat'..........because I'd eat it. :)

Yep, could have been a good source of cheap meat recently, with all these people having to sell their horses due to the recession!  ;)

I don't see how a horse is any different to a cow or a sheep, or even a dog.

I'm sure that they're all as tasty as each other if properly cooked. :)

We're far too squeamish about meat in this country.  ::)

Rabbit is another one that should be used more and would/should be cheap as chips, because they breed like...  ;)

You can't beat a good traditional English rabbit stew and dumplings with plenty of creamy well buttered mashed potato.  :y :y :y :y

I agree  :y
Sometimes a bit of trial and error to find a butchers that you like.....and at the price you like.
Also when you cook it......if sausages/burgers/bacon/mince.....far less fat (water if bacon) comes out of sausages/burgers/mince when cooking  :y

And I like the chilli and hog roast sausages from the butchers i go to  :y

He even had a deal on one day last week.....buy a pound and get a pound free  :y

The boneless pork chops i buy of him taste great  :y
