going to court as a witness
« on: 21 December 2013, 12:23:17 »

last year I got scammed for a couple of hundred pounds reported it to the police but they wernt bothered as the people had left the aera[and I wasn't doing 35 in a 30!]. so I got a crime number and a few weeks later a letter  saying that was the end of it.
well I was annoyed at myself that this had happened so started looking for them asking around and using the internet and to cut along story short I found them about 150 miles away.got the police onto them, and have now been told by email!that they are going to court and asking if i will  be a witness. so ive sent a email back saying yes and asking if I can claim as its a day off work and a 300mile round trip.
does anyone know if I can claim?
because if I cant il end up loseing another couple of hundred pounds.

If the cps called you as a witness then you should get expenses paid :y

Well done, I nice bit of detective work there! :y :y :y

Yes, as said, if you are called to be a witness by the CPS you can claim expenses. :)
