What a sorry state to get into for a civilised country. I think it was Rods2 that said a few weeks back that UK prices (about 13p) would be rising to German levels (21p)before long. It could be worse- they could be as high as Spain, Ireland or Cyprus!!

I still clearly remember being told that nuclear power would be so cheap it would be cost ineefective to post out the bills. What a larf.

I will have to find a bill. It is the standing charge that is the killer. You contract for the sort of levels of max simultaneous power you might use, and they fit a limiter in your fuse box and the standing charge is based on that. We have twisted 2 gauge wire for 3 phase overhead distribution so can only have 5.5KW!

Rushing back to Blighty? Do you have the yellow thing in the sky 300 or so days a year? Do you want to buy my des res? Do you have open roads?
