Webby, changing up at 4,000 RPM makes me think your kick down switch might not be working. Mine changes up at about 6500 on full chat, sport mode or not.

Or just generally light on throttle ;)  Agreed if "booted" should change up a gear around red line.

Yep, definitely doesn't go as higher revs as in Sports mode. If the switch was nackered though would it kick down at all? it does kick down in both modes but as said changes up at 4k and red lines in sports mode.

Where does this switch live and is there a way of testing it? :)

Key thing for the swicth is ensuring that there is very little slack in the throttle cable, the swicth is integrated into the throttle cable and sits by the scuttle on the driveers side of the engine bay

Should be no slack at all, pull gently backwards to the firewall until you start to meet resistance then refit the clip :y
