MV6 Exhaust help?
« on: 25 January 2014, 14:52:50 »

The time has come, and my omega is now up for mot on valentines day. Everything on the car seems to be in order and should give no problems.......well the exhaust might. When I bought the car the exhaust was immensely loud, a thing I always intended on changing anyway but now seems to be the right time as the mot over here (Northern Ireland) is prone to hating exhaust systems. So after a quick look under the car this morning I noticed that the guy I'd bought the car from had not only removed both center silencers but the catalytic converters seem to have been removed as well. This explains a lot now, the ridiculous noise, the amount of fuel I've been using and the few small blow outs. So i think I'm going to replace the whole system from the manifolds back, question is, where to get such a thing? Am I better off buying new, or look for a used exhaust system? Don't really fancy an aftermarket system, don't want to go down that route with this car.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

Neil

If your trying to save as much money as possible. Then make up a wanted advert, place it in car chat and hope nice admin types will move it,there are a few members over your way.
,next way is new.
order full system cat back from ets exhaust in Poland cost £97.00 delivered to uk,don't know about Ireland, then try to source a set of downpipes,or buy two cheap silencers have them welded in were the cats should be. :o

Northern, so should still be the same from Poland  :y
I got mine from the bay, but cat back only. As bg says, depends on budget and future plans, and there have been a few exhaust bits coming up recently if you decide to go 2nd hand.
