Two Russian ambassadors have been overheard joking on other places the Russia should take over, where there are independence movements. This includes Scotland (cattleland), Alaska, Catalonia and Venice.

They are obviously not content with owning a good percentage of the expensive parts of London as they think there should also be a referendum on the future of Londonland.
