Anybody used Pagid brake pads...? are they any good...?

Iv noticed they are reasonably cheap to buy but arw they any good...?

I usually buy Mintex or Ferodo but theyre starting to get expensive now, especially with the Ferodo pads coming in at £85 just for the fronts... (dustless type)...

Vx pads are £15/18 odd on tc.

Can be a bit dusty though. They work well given the price.

Then there's the oe vx pads. Riveted shims, minimal dust, last longer, better bite. But expensive. £80 odd on tc iirc.

In fact pm Jimbob. He had a few sets of oe going cheap at one point. Not sure if he sold them all.

Chris, didn't you say recently that you thought that Pagid are the OE manufacturer for Vx?

Pagid are certainly one of the OE manufacturers for Jaguar - just replaced my rears with Pagid pads.

Jason at Allgerman has a pair of Jurid pads he thinks might be suitable for omega. Not sure they will be oe quality though.

I have front and rears in abs club shop, t/c spec, but due to weight would possably make them a bit more expensive with courier charge

Pagid do make some excellent pads, as do Mintex, Ferodo and everyone else in the business. I've no doubt that they also make plenty of "factor quality" pads that may not be quite as good. Suck it and see.

I wouldn't be paying £85 a set for any brake pads, that's for sure.

I've had a couple of members round here with the Ferodo pads squealing like you wouldn't believe. No shims on the back, painted surface of the pad metal backing cracked with pressure from the piston, and rust formed a swelling under the paint in that area. So the pad rocks over the swelled up area at high frequency and they squeal from a mile away.

Wouldn't touch Pagid pads!! Changed mine for all Pagid previously when i worked at Euro car parts as they are there supposed better quality brand. After 12 months driving and about 6k i developed a rattle on NSF brake. When I looked at it the pad material had come away from the backing plate on one pad and the second one was badly cracked. The OSF was also starting to crack away from the backing plate. As said previously VX pads aren't as expensive as most people think. I paid £15 for fronts about 6 months ago so i'd be sticking with VX parts.

I`ve got these at the moment and although a little expensive they are worth it, good bite and I`ve not experienced any fade with hard use, they also have a strong feel to them and give lots of confidence, I`ll be getting another set when these are done

Use Kevin Wood suggests, you cannot go by name alone.  I slapped some Mintex ones on my MV6 a few years ago, they were so shockingly poor, they were binned in a few weeks.

TC pads are known to work very well on the Omega, thus are the low cost pad of choice. Not worth messing around

Indeed.. And the best pad I've ever driven on was a Pagid. Over £100 a set, though.

Not worth deviating from trade club pads for an Omega, as said.
