Nissan have a working prototype of a Leaf that will not just self-park, but drop you off at the front door of the supermarket, and it will drive around the car park looking for a space.  When ready, you tell it to come and pick you up at the front door! :o
Talking of Leafs, saw a pink '63 plate one heading London bound on the M3 this morning... :y

You sure it wasn't red?
Ok, Fuschia :P

Think it started RX, but it was along time ago ;D

Making a car 'drive' without a driver is easy. Getting it to do so reliably and safely with all the unpredictable, hard to allow for stuff that goes on all around is next to impossible. Now multiply that by all the cars on the roads. We don't allow trains without drivers, and they are in a much more suitable environment.

Without a massive change in the way we use them, driverless cars are a long way off.
Not in our lifetime.

You'll be dead before Christmas. :)
