If any of you have facebook, you should have noticed that at the bottom of the screen, you can now chat to people that are online.

Its been suggested a few times, while not a bad idea the feeling has always been it could split the community.

I am a member of another forum which had chat rooms built into the forum and everyone used it for 1 night and then went back to normal, mind you they are a bunch of old farts  :D

As i have said to TB before, I ran my own forum that had intergrated Chat. The Forum suffered in the end as everyone was talking real time and so very few posts were being made. So that led to the demise of the forum, followed by the chat 12 months later, because there was  no forum there where no new members, and as people  left the numbers got thinner and thinner.

My opinion, Chat is not the way to go. :exclamation
