Just my Luck! Facelift Seat Expert Required!
« on: 30 June 2014, 16:40:12 »

Hello Gentlemen,

Once again i find myself on my knees, asking for help and guidance as i'm currently at 'What the f.ck do i do now' stage with my TD CDX.

Current issue is...

Recently, I aquired a Full Elite Facelift Cream Leather from Serek(Many thanks)

All was well i ripped the old interior out Yesterday (Sunday A.M.) and started to fit the easier items Door cards, Fuse Box Lid, Door Pins, Glovebox etc.

Today (Monday) all was going together well as you can see

Now.. for the Omega Addicts you will notice there is ruddy great block connector missing from my loom . . . . . .  :o :( >:( but what was weird, the passangerside had the block connector hence the f.cking seat works and the drivers dont  >:( >:(

Now can i splice in the block connector from a donar vehicle as David's DTi has Elite Cloth but it has memory so i can get the wiring from there but how and what do i do. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Passenger seat also has a child seat sensor so odds on you`ll get the SRS light on the dash once all connected

i'm not an expert by any means  but What exactly is missing Sam ?   Done a couple of seat change overs recently & had no trouble . Apart from SRS light coming on with that bloody child seat sensor thing . My advice  on that issue would be not[/u] to plug in that extra yellow plug on the passenger side

Just a thought  . . .  :-\The "big block connector"  you say is missing . . . did it "stay " on the old seat you took out ? :-\

If the height adjuster and heater worked on the seat you removed, then, as Al suggests, the plug must be there somewhere  ::)

Covered many times and dead obvious.

You have a CDx and are installing Elite seats.

Elite seats have memory function which integrates with the rear view mirror etc. and requires extra wiring, you wont have the connector for this in a CDx.

Do a search though as its easy enough to connect the two or three wires required to get the seat fully functional without having the large connector.

Even so, it will still be plug and play ::) after the wiring mod in the guide is done, of course, but that doesn't affect the seat/car connection in anyway...

Its not plug and play for the drivers side, it requires a mod  :y

The key thing is that we answer the questions (which had not happened thus far)  :y

[Tunnie hat on] the mod is to the wiring on the seat itself at the control box, the plug to the side of the seat simply plugs straight in... [/Tunnie hat off]

If the seat electrics worked before hand, then no reason why the drivers seat won't work once the mod is completed... But as you say, even that simple question remains unanswered.

I Put FL elite leather into a FL MV6   , done the small wiring mod in the drivers seat as per guide, plugged in  & all worked fine .

Memory worked fine but no mirror obviously .
