Strange Audio/Locking Problem Updated and Solved
« on: 30 June 2014, 21:20:16 »

Hi Just thought I'd update on my strange audio locking problem and now I know what the problem was I feel very sheepish as It was my own fault! Just in case anyone didn't read original post I had a very strange thing happening that when I turned off the ignition the radio would stay on but when I opened the door it would go off then come back on again when I closed it! And if that wasn't weird enough the remote central locking or boot release wouldn't work when the door was closed either but would when it was open! So after weeks of checking wiring I went to the back of the radio which I should mention I have a Bluetooth phone kit wired in to the ignition live and battery live feeding the radio (yes I know your all shouting you dope that's where the problem is) which I have installed in many previous cars before exactly the same way and even a pre facelift omega! I decided to remove the wiring to the Bluetooth kit to eliminate it and hey presto everything started to work again! I still have no explanation as to why this Bluetooth kit that has been an old faithful for over 10 years has suddenly started to cause all these problems  and was working in this car fine at first but maybe someone could explain it to me but it goes without saying that I wont be putting it back in again!!!!!!!!!

It's always obvious when you step back  :y

Incidently, there's no need to graft wires onto the back of the Head Unit, there's a pre-wired plug with everything you need taped up by the glovebox.
