Mine doesn't appear to have one! on my old V6 it was clearly visible when the glovebox was removed but I can't see it for the life of me on this bugger

It does. Remember when fitted, you can't see the hedgehog bit, only the plastic underside.  Follow wires from fan to the unit in the ducting near it :y
