It was a very rarely taken up option (I've never seen one)

there was a phone hanset on feebay a few weeks back apparently it plugged in by the handbrake (same system??????)

Yes, handset in the centre armrest

as rare as hens teeth then eh , i was gonna buy it for novelty sake but then there is nowt wrong with the ccrt 700

Looks like connections for the Motorola transceivers, who made the 'phone in armrest'?

Can't remember, but Motorola did have the carphone market sewn up in the early 90s

Only just found this thread!!!  ::) ::) ::) ::)

I seem to remember a similar conversation about 6 weeks back and the conclusion was that it was for the OnStar system, which was never actually activated in the UK!
