When have I personally insulted anyone ???

Some of your historic comments are such that they insult whole countries/races/and, sometimes, individuals by inference.  Whether you mean that to happen or are oblivious to their impact without thinking, well, it cannot be read by anyone other than yourself.

I would dearly love to reaserch your posts and quote but Im on the mobile out in the country on a not good webby connection so that's just not viable.  :)

Opinions are simply that opinions some of mine are for reaction. I have never personally insulted a fellow member unlike your comments tonight. Now man up and simply apologise for your offensive comments directed at myself, as I did earlier and PLAY NICELY :y

In general terms, I am not offended by 99.9% of posts on here but sometimes, just sometimes, there's a post or three that are in my personal, non admin, position as a forum member beyond the pale or across the line as regards common decency or those generally accepted norms within which we function.

Some times the line is crossed  and most times I refrain but this time, I bit. Hey ho....

I had hoped for a comment on the independence stuff tbh. Some of the bigotry surrounding the Union turns my stomach personally, and wondered if that was enough to drive most Scotts to independence on its own. I wouldn't blame them. Not even slightly, however much common sense prevailed in the end. (Imo anyway)

....way off topic mind but still curious. :)

These freedom fighters that trot off to fight in Syria...do we know how many come from each country,i mean how many reside in England/Scotland/Wales.

Not being rude but I can barely understand my mate at work (west coast Scotland) so how the hell would a Muslim with strong scots accent be received or even worse a Taffy. ???

Tornado flight crews include....

..... A female. According to Sky news. ....and footage of said crews walking across the Tarmac.

Given the mission, the irony is not lost on me. :y However blatantly obvious the story placement is.

I'd purposely avoided this thread, not even opened it, purely based on the subject, as I knew it would be full of phish that I wouldn't have the time to deal with  :-[

So sorry for being late to the party.

Can I just get everybody to re-read the forum guidelines, specifically:

Members being offensive to other members will not be tolerated. Offensive or abusive public threads or private messages will be looked in to and appropriate action taken by the Moderators.

Remember, we are a global site, and have members from all over the world. If we can't be tolerant of other members, and have extremist views towards some, how is that different to the intolerants who start up extremist groups?

In the UK, as across most of the Western world, we are lucky enough to have free speech. However, with that comes the responsibility to not abuse that. The same applies to OOF, we allow free speech, but once it starts getting offensive, that has to stop.  The only options Admins have is ban members frequently flouting the rules, or close down the General Chat area. Or both.

To paraphrase another Admin, out reason for being is to create a "better than Haynes" resource for keeping Omegas running. Silly squabbling, single mindedness, keyboard warrior bickering and so on do not feature in that vision, so do we need General Chat? Or troublemakers? I don't think so.

And that IS the final word on this thread  >:(
