He was obviously so engrossed in whatever film he had on the laptop sat on the dash, that he thought he was still in Lithuania!  ::)

Bet he didn't surrender his Latvian one... he should have seen a proper fine and points for Dangerous Driving and then been deported... stupid Huddersfield on sea >:(

If it had been a British driver, they'd have been looking at 6-8 points, a four figure fine and loss of commercial endorsement on top of a ban :-X

He probably didn't have a UK licence anyway and took his HGV in Lithuania with a tractor and trailer!  ::)

I think they can endorse any EU licence these days.  :-\

Indeed they can, but in reality do they :-\

When you move to another country, you're supposed to surrender your original licence for a local one, but nothing to prevent a person from obtain a duplicate/replacement and surrendering that whilst retaining the original one... and that also assumes that the name given here is the name someone was born with there ::)

Hmmm there's a lot of cars going around these days with Eastern European plates, are they all temporary visitors?  ::)

I saw a nice RHD Merc C Class the other day with Romanian plates....
