I must admit, my mind wandered onto ways to avoid the lycra getting sweaty and the image got even worse when the obvious solution (leaving it at home) dawned. :o

Yeah I thought about that too, I would imagine craashing it in to a wall while doing a ton will result in any kind of chance of survival.  Even if you added an airbag, would the steering column take the forces applied? :-\
