I found this floating around behind the radio on the 2.2 - looks like it should be secured somewhere.

Does anyone know what it is?

Don't recall seeing anything like that when I've had various facelift radios out... :-\

Found all sorts of, er, interesting wiring when I first got my current ex plod, but certainly nothing like that...

Climate temp sensor by looks of things. check the air ducts in the area (particularly the main air distribution behind radio/astray

Yep, quite a short cable on it so they do sometimes become dislodged when routing cables in that area.
